My husband and I have always celebrated Valentine’s Day at home. I actually can’t remember a year we went out for Valentine’s. Usually we cook a nice dinner at home, exchange small gifts, enjoy a bottle of cabernet and watch a RomCom. How do you celebrate Valentine’s Day? And more importantly, do you have a movie recommendation?
Now that we have our kids, we embrace staying at home even more with our little Valentine’s. Over the last few years to make it fun for the kids we have started doing fondue for Valentine’s Dinner. They love dipping various vegetables into the cheese sauce and fruits into the chocolate just as much as their Mama.
This year with Valentine’s falls on our swim lesson night so I am thinking we might split up fondue in two parts (before and after lessons), or maybe just chocolate for after swim lessons. I still have two days to figure it out 😉
I do know that once the kids sugar bellies are tucked into bed, my husband and I will open a bottle of wine and enjoy some “us” time. I will slip into something more comfortable. Literally. I am totally wearing this outfit Thursday night. I just got the love tee from Mama in Overalls- the fabric is so soft that I can’t wait to get my hands on her spring line when it launches! (use code FRIENDOFSTYLE to save on your order!) I’m wearing comfy knit joggers and a light pink duster cardigan. My cardigan is two years old but I like the drape of the new version! Perfect for movie time with my guy!
One fun element for this Valentine’s Day that is a little conversation game I created. This year I decided to make a set of 8 conversation hearts with little questions for an open conversation with him. It should be fun!
I had kinda a tough time coming up with questions to ask. We’ve been together since 2006, he is my best friend- there is not much about him I don’t already know. I’m most curious to see who my home chef will pick for “Name one person you would love to have as a dinner guest.” I’m surprised I do not know the answer!
You can see all eight questions in my FREE download. This is 100% free; I am not even asking for your email address in order to print. Just click here and the file should automatically download. Send to your printer, cut along the dotted lines and see where the conversation goes with your spouse!
