Buffalo Chickpea Dip
Using chickpeas instead of chicken with a few lighter ingredients, this buffalo chicken dip is a must try!
Last weekend we wanted a buffalo chicken dip but we didn’t have any of the ingredients. I challenged myself to create on using my knowledge on the base of the recipe and what we had on hand.
This turned out so good!
Buffalo Chickpea Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 6 cups water
- 1/2 cup Greek Yogurt
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/3 cup Franks hot sauce
- blue cheese crumbs (optional)
Instructions

Bring water to boil, add baking soda then chickpeas. Cook for 8 minutes (watch for over boiling)

Heat oven to 375°& lightly oil an 8x8 baking dish.

In a food processor add chickpeas, cream cheese, Greek yogurt & franks. Blend till smooth. Gently stir in cheddar cheese

Transfer to prepared baking dish, top with blue cheese crumbles, and bake for 20 minutes.

Serve warm with chips & fresh veggies.
