Yogurt Parfait Err’day

Usually if I try to eat the same item every day, I get burned out quickly. I don’t know what Chobani puts in their coconut greek yogurt but I’ve ate this almost every day for breakfast for probably the last two years. The secret for me, I have to throw some texture in there. Almonds, chocolate chips, strawberries- whatever I have laying around.     Lately though, since I’ve been nursing- this yogurt parfait has been my staple. Brewer’s Yeast and Flaxseed are full of milk-making supply goodness. By mixing it up in my yogurt, I can’t even taste […]

The Blardigan

Hello, meet what the bestie and I refer to as The Blardigan. She has one, I have one- and it’s heaven really. What is it you ask? Pretty much the most soft cardigan ever made. It’s fuzzy, warm, oversized and ombre. It’s almost like wearing a blanket. I even purchased my mom one for Christmas. It’s that amazing. I wore the heck out of this Barefoot Dreams Cardigan from the moment it was gifted to me. I’m talking once or twice a week. It’s the best to wear on a cold day, especially when snuggling a newborn. Or brunching. Or […]

Oversized Sweater FTW

This oversized knitted poncho has been my serious #1 go to sweater this season. Almost anytime someone would come to visit the baby, I’d throw this on. During holiday shopping I grabbed it on sale at Banana Republic Factory for $30. At the time, I was 34+ weeks pregnant and even at an xs, this sweater fit over the bump. Even though it runs large, I saved it for post-baby anyway. I’ve been head over heels with the burgundy/wine/blood red color since fall and I adore the chunky knit. It’s super easy to throw a long sleeve tshirt underneath and pair […]

Mardi Gras looks for the fam

I had so much fun creating an outfit for a Mardi Gras party! I knew I wanted to wear a pleated bright green maxi skirt and I was happy to scoop one up on Amazon! Pro tip: If planning to purchase this skirt, the size refers to length not waist. I also knew I wanted to wear a fun head piece. I thought about making one until I spotted a Fleur de Lis headband on Amazon. Then I snagged a purple long sleeve tee on super clearance online at Target. The last piece I needed was a belt. I headed to Hobby Lobby for black sequin […]

Meet Jen

In addition of being the owner and editor-in-chief to Style in Shape Jen is a wife and mother of two.  A female with  a serious love for online (deal hunting) shopping and a slight addiction to at home exercise programs. She is your everyday midwest suburban female balancing marriage, motherhood and a new career as yoga instructor. After the birth of her daughter, Jen felt a need to create a space to keep her grounded in the chaos that is raising tiny humans. She envisioned a friendly place to express style, share healthy recipes and rejoice for fitness. A place to […]
